Want to
know more about our Pepper Sprays? Read on and
discover the truth...
Quite frankly, Pepper Sprays
are not for everyone... Some people don't think they need any help when it comes to
protecting themselves against an attacker. But for us mere mortals who do want a
tactical advantage for self defense, pepper spray makes an excellent companion.
Defensive Sprays have proven themselves time and time again to be very
effective self defense weapons, that will greatly improve your ability to
fight off an attacker. Perhaps you want a pepper spray
for yourself, or perhaps you'd like to purchase one for someone else you care
about protecting. Either way, you may want to know a bit more about these
defensive sprays before you decide to buy a pepper spray.
So
lets go over a few Pepper Spray basics, shall we? What is pepper spray..? Who carries them..? Where would
you
use it..? Are they effective..?
-
What is Pepper Spray?... The main ingredient in pepper spray is Oleoresin Capsicum, which is an
inflammatory liquid derived from the highly concentrated juice of hot chili
peppers.
As an inflammatory agent, the average effects of pepper spray are...
1. A serious burning sensation to the affected areas of the face, causing some pain...
2. A swelling of the capillaries in the eyes, causing them to tear up
and swell shut...
3. Inflammation of the mucus membranes in the nose, throat, and lungs, making it very
difficult to breath
These effects usually happen in about 1 to 2 seconds and can last up to 20 minutes
or longer, giving you plenty of time to
get yourself and your loved ones to safety.
What kind of a person carries a
pepper spray..? People from all walks of life carry defensive sprays. For
example... women and men of all ages, security guards, police officers and
military personnel, just to name a few... If that many people believe in them,
don't you think they might be useful for YOUR personal
protection? The bottom line is... pepper sprays
are carried by anyone who wants to carry a tactical advantage when it come
to protecting themselves against attack.
-
Where would you use a pepper spray..?
The best place to carry your defensive spray is wherever you're at (assuming
it's legal wherever you're at) The best time to use it is whenever you feel
physically threatened by someone, and there's little to no chance of you
just walking away from them.
-
Are defensive sprays effective..? Of course, nothing works 100% of the time on everyone. (Not even a gun stops everybody on the
first shot. So no matter what self defense weapon you carry, it's always
a good idea to have a backup plan) That being said...
Pepper sprays are effective on about 99% of all people in this world.
When you use your pepper spray, always aim for the persons
face. Even if they close their eyes or put up their hand to block it, you only
need to get them in the face with a good spatter of it.
Sooner or later they'll have to open their eyes, or breathe, and when they do
the pepper spray will go to work on them.
In a few words... Pepper Sprays are some of the most convenient, easy
to carry, and easy to use, self defense weapons you can own.
The more you understand just how valuable these pepper sprays could be for
saving your life, or the life of someone you care about, the less you'll think
about delaying this important purchase.
Perhaps you want a pepper spray for your own protection... or perhaps you'd like to purchase
one for someone else you care about protecting. Either way, you've come to the
right place.
We have
a wide variety of defensive sprays for you to choose from. Some are small and discreet, some are covertly disguised, and you'll even find some larger pepper sprays that are perfect for
security guards, or home and business protection. Many of our pepper sprays are priced
under $10.00
Think of it as inexpensive life insurance. You hope you'll never need it, but
it's better to have it and not need it... than to need it and not have it.
Safety Tip
***A
special thanks to
community member Lynn Sutherland for providing us with
these safety tips***
1 Tip from Tae Kwon Do :
The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use
it, do!
2. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM
Toss it away from you.... chances are that he is more interested in your wallet
and/or purse
than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER
DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights
and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't
see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working,
etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.) DON'T DO
THIS! The predator will be watching you,
and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put
a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,
LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.
5. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head, DO NOT DRIVE OFF, repeat:
DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the
car. Your Air Bag will save you.
If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it . As soon as the
car crashes, bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a
remote location.
5 A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor,
and in the back seat
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door.
Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while
the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C..) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the
passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may
want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you
back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than
dead.)
6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible
places to be alone
and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)
7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The
predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it
most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!
8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP ! It may get you
raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well
educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He
walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help"
into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.
9. If you hear a crying baby on your porch, don't open the door -- call the
police.
