Safety Tip
Your mindset during an attack is
critical to your survival. You must not let fear take over. For a short time,
you must become the hunter, not the hunted.
Most dirt-bags who attack you, do
so because they feel you would be an easy target and they won't get hurt.
Your advantage when you are
attacked is that your attacker doesn't think you'll fight back. Prove them wrong
by striking first and striking fast. This will put your attacker on the
defensive and give you the best chance for survival.
Don't hesitate. The longer you
wait, the more likely your attacker will strike first giving them the advantage.
Instead, you strike first, letting them
suddenly realize they picked the wrong target.
The way you practice your
defensive moves in training, will determine how well you execute your defense
for real, at the proper time.
Well executed movement means the
nervous system has been trained to the point where it sends impulses to certain
muscles causing the muscles to react at the proper time, with the proper motion.
So when training for self
defense, train as if you are going to be using these moves for real someday.
This way your muscles and nervous system will be more prepared to respond
naturally with proper technique.
